Flash Memory, 2016/2017

Oak  / Perspex / Silver gelatin prints
in collaboration with Gauthier Oushoorn

Flash Memory consists of multiple lightproof oak boxes that contain iconic
images of historical events. The images are re-photographed and printed in the darkroom onto photographic paper without fixing the emulsion, causing the chemical process to continue if exposed to light.

Every instance that the image is viewed simultaneously affects the
memory as well as the image; only a select number of people will ultimately be able to see the image. Each print will change differently due to the
nature of the chemical process and the influence of light.
